ACL – H-Series Extra Clearance Rod Bearings (Calico Coated)

ACL coated H-Series rod bearings were developed primarily for NASCAR racing, but are also well suited to other types of competition engines. They’re especially good for engines that run at medium-to-high revs. They have hardened-steel backings with thin overlays and a high crush factor, plus a medium level of eccentricity. H-Series bearings feature ACL’s exclusive TriArmor coating, the industry’s only moly/graphite treatment. The sophisticated blend, in a low-friction PTFE polymer base, offers extraordinary protection and lubricity. They also have enlarged chamfers at the sides for greater crank-fillet clearance and are made without flash plating for better seating. The ACL coated H-Series rod bearings are available with various under-sizes, including 0.001 in. of clearance for polished journals.

These Tri-Metal 77 engine bearings combine the strength of a copper-lead alloy layer with steel backing and an electroplated babbitt metal.

Coating Description

CT-1 is a Dry Film Lubricant coating that helps reduce friction and abrasive wear. It provides intermittent dry lubrication and is not affected by dust or dirt. CT-1 is specifically engineered to withstand the extreme conditions of today’s high performance engines. Professional engine builders enjoy a higher level of confidence with increased embedability, strength and durability.

CT-1 Dry Film Lubricant coating is applied as a spray process. Different surface preparation methods appropriate for the substrates will be used prior to the coating process. Coating thickness is varied to suit the application. Typical coating thickness for engine bearings is 0.00025″ to 0.00030″ inch (6 to 7.5 microns).
